The trails of Liguria

Trekking and hiking from the Cinque Terre to the Ligurian Alps — trails plunging to the sea, the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri and the villages of the hinterland.

La Liguria is a long crescent squeezed between the sea and the mountains: in just a few kilometres you pass from the shoreline to the ridges of the Apennines and the Ligurian Alps. Across this territory we have recorded 1634 hiking trails mapped on OpenStreetMap, crossing 579 towns across the provinces of Genova, Imperia, La Spezia e Savona. Of these, 765 have enough data for a dedicated listing with length, elevation gain, difficulty and the towns crossed; the rest are listed for completeness on the area pages, pending more complete data.

Dal Sentiero Azzurro e dall'Alta Via delle Cinque Terre al promontorio di Portofino, dal Parco del Beigua alle Alpi Liguri of Monte Saccarello, Liguria is crossed from end to end by the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri, the great panoramic balcony that runs above the coast. Many trails hang right over the sea: where a route touches the coast you'll find a link to leriviere.it, the twin vertical dedicated to the rivieras.
